This paper describes the development of new items for the subtests 'Everyday Knowledge', 'Reality Check' and 'Applied Arithmetic' of the Adaptive Intelligence Diagnostic Test 2 for group or computer-based administration. A rule-based approach was adopted for this purpose, with the aim of creating a catalogue of rules. The items constructed in this way were tested for Rasch model fit in four schools.
