A sequel to my Novel, Against The Wind, Crossing Roads is the story about a young girls adventure into friendship, relationships, family values, and unconditional love. After losing her mother at age fourteen, and now dealing with her overbearing father, Elizabeth soon became rebellious and quickly got the reputation around high school as being a party girl. While dating a drug addicted older boy, Elizabeth befriends a local boy, Michael, where they develop an unconditional platonic relationship. With the sudden death of her boyfriend and her new found friend moving away, Elizabeth feels alone and lost. After a fail suicide attempt, Elizabeth decides to concentrate more on her studies and taking care of her aging father and coming of age younger brother. Even her father notices the change in his daughter and they reconcile their differences. A now eighteen year old Elizabeth seems content but knows there has to be more to her life than living in this small town. An unexpected visit from her platonic friend Michael becomes the turning point in her life. Michael invites Elizabeth to go with him to a family wedding. Her father is unsure of his daughters actions and wonders if she is just running away. Elizabeth goes on her weekend trip to New York and manages to have a good time. At the wedding reception Elizabeth is introduced to Michael's family as his new girlfriend and is treated like a new addition, which ruffles the Brides feathers. Elizabeth had never experienced a family life before. Michael and Elizabeth experience their first sexual encounter that night and Michael knows he cannot let this girl walk out of his life and asks her to stay. Elizabeth finds it hard to leave her father and brother, until she is accepted to a highly rated New York college. Elizabeth accepts Michael's invitation to move in with him. However, Michael's family are weary of his new girlfriends true motives. The young couple begin a journey towards a new life together.
