When inventor Allyson Levitz wakes up fifty years in the future, the world has been ravaged and everyone she knows and love could be gone. As she makes her way out of New York City, she realizes everything has changed. Humanity has been nearly wiped out, and those who remain are altered and lives in tribes based on their mutations. As Allyson tries to get to Albany in hopes of finding a remnant of her family, she sees the once familiar landscape has changed-old traces of civilization disappearing as nature reclaims what was once taken. As she makes contact with each of the tribes, she makes new friends. Each one becomes critical as the races turn on her, demanding the information locked in her brain.
