His shares with you picking cotton and dates, working long hours as a lettuce tramp, driving a truck, attending welding school, dodging bullets from Sheriff?s deputies, dust bowl migrants, gangsters of the time, rodeos, Indians, various other ethnic people, hobos, prostitutes, parades, poker and dice games, pickpockets, seamen, and side trips to Mexico. It also includes a collection of his poems, many of which reflect back to events and people found in his Drifting Years.
