Forgiving is not something that we just do by willful choice, but rather the effortless outcome of knowing the truth in our hearts. When trying to forgive those who have hurt us is difficult to do, it is because we believe something that runs contrary to forgiving. For example, if we believe that forgiving lets the person off the hook, makes us vulnerable to be hurt again, says that we don't care about what happened, etc., then it is not likely that we can genuinely forgive from the heart. The answer is not trying harder to forgive, denying our feelings, or pushing through and just doing the right thing. The answer is in knowing the truth from God's perspective with our hearts about the one who has hurt us and the offense we harbor. When we are able to view the one who hurt us and their offense from God's heavenly perspective, we will experience compassion and forgiveness from the heart will follow without effort. "Effortless Forgiveness" will help you to identify the lies that you may believe that are hindering your ability to forgive freely from your heart.
