A series of bizarre cases, most often ending in the deaths of seemingly innocent victims, lead to the conclusion that they are one or more perpetrators whose motive or motives are not clear, but one thing is; no victim dies instantaneously and in a usual way.
While some of the victims literally perish before their eyes, for the team of detectives the search for the perpetrators, who seem to be deliberately toying with them, becomes a real nightmare.
As time goes on, it becomes clearer that the whole thing looks more like one big show than a police investigation, in which detectives, due to the unusual methods of the perpetrators, cannot predict in which direction the whole thing is going.
At the moment, where the unfolding of the plot would normally be expected, the story only then starts entangling, revealing some, until then, unseen characters whose roles and influence are above what has been seen so far, including some entities that are addressed only with "they or them".
