When a young girl befriends a strange woman who only appears to her in the mirror, her babysitter, Jason Nothen, becomes concerned with the urban legend. Upon bringing attention to the existence of the ghost, Jason involves not only himself, but many of his friends in a cat-and-mouse game for survival against a very powerful entity. When the wrath of Mary devastates a small Colorado town, the involvement of the police becomes a serious issue for the group of teenagers who brought on this destruction. Now possible suspects in a series of grisly murders, Jason and his friends have more to hide from than just a ghost whom nobody believes really exists. When all hope seems lost, the terror brought on by the evil ghost grabs the attention of a private investigator, Martin Winfield, who seems to know too much about the history behind the urban legend.
