The process of scanning a network firewall is also examined in detail. This will help you determine the ports which are open. You will also learn the services which have been assigned to the various ports on the firewall. The process of performing layer 2 discoveries with Nmap is explored in detail, thus, you will know how to do it. You are also guided on how to grab banners using Nmap. The process of gathering network information with Nmap as well as penetrating into servers is then discussed.
