Kindness and consideration were a couple of the many social norms "once upon a time", but we've lost our way. Have you ever held the door open for someone only to watch them walk through it or let someone out in traffic without a thank you? Do you identify with social media memes that talk about today's generation and how entitled they seem to be, but have a nagging feeling of guilt because we as a society have stopped instilling these basic courtesies in our children? Do you regularly communicate using obscenities around children and think nothing of it, or consider it a level of honest communication, hence making you honest? These things are part of a list of today's social norms that are addressed. Find out how we can cumulatively change how society addresses itself and how simple respectful actions can change our personal lives and the lives around us. Follow along as I describe my view of how common sense stopped being so common and how we as a people can bring our lives back to center from the perspective of an ordinary person. From old school advice, to post COVID-19 changes in the family, to tips to help the single parent. Family was once the glue that held society together. Together we can explore ways to make that a real thing again, perhaps solving some of today's every day issues and reconnect to those people we love the most.
