My approach has always been to address this apparent gap in the market; at times, adopting a style close to the traditional fable or folk-tale or veering only slightly from it. If you've an eye for a 'short story' that is...short...has no qualms about telling a simple tale... You may care to give these a try... Occasionally dark...occasionally light...occasionally (hopefully) amusing...hopefully (always) accessible! Written in a range of styles and in a variety of settings... Aimed at anyone with an eye for such tales and without the need to be too uplifted by the things they read... DW
