Arlen Farosey, an analyst for a think tank in Dallas, stumbles across an enigmatic footnote while doing research on a project and discovers a secret cabal of men known as Group Nine. Despite warnings from his superiors, Arlen investigates the group and finds that they made be conducting secret experiments in time travel. His investigation reveals a mysterious figure, a reclusive scientist known as St. Clair, who claims to be from the year 2197. This man attempts to convince Arlen that he, Arlen, is what is known as a 'Singularity' and his actions in 2016 may result in millions of deaths in the future. Arlen is unconvinced that St. Clair is from the future, and he doubts that he, a low-level employee of a think tank, could have any impact on anyone in the future. He challenges St. Clair to prove that his claim that he is from the future by allowing Arlen to accompany him on a time travel excursion using the time travel technology that St. Clair claims to possess.Will Arlen visit the future?
