If he doesn't drink from it, then he gets splitting headaches that feel as if somebody's driving a sledgehammer into his head. Seriously incapacitating. It's a good thing he doesn't own a gun, because he might just use it to end this pain. It's as if the cup is demanding of him, "Drink from me, drink from me." Learning to work with it, to dial it down and to hone it in, it's as if the universe has given Bob Dawson an awesomely powerful tool, one that was a bit unwieldy at first, but now that he's getting the hang of it, it's a skill that he can probably use to change the world for the better, though first he's going to Vegas.
