Something in the fabric of who we are is missing. There is a gaping hole verbalizing its presence, sometimes with soft throbs. Sometimes with aches. Other times it goes for the jugular. We are all aware to some extent, but we press this world's life experiences closely into us, reveling in the good or reeling in the bad, somehow hoping to drown out that relentless background chant, "Fix me." Basic necessities have no effect. Encounters or relationships with others may temporarily assuage, but then in the eerie quiet when I am alone with me the hollow ping, ping, ping escalates and I'm once again aware of that resonant "Fix me." Where is satisfaction? Where is that fulfilling life adventure? Do I need more education? Better job? Better friends? Bigger bank account? Surely, there has to be something for a world of billions with each seeking the missing piece--actually THE MISSING PEACE. When the empty lies sang their siren songs to me: This is it! No! Here it is. Come, try this! You don't want to miss that! I crossed the desert. Fought a flood. Hiked the Himalayas. Pledged myself to every known pleasure. Gambled away years of my life, and finally fell on the face of hell. The good news? I did find it! This book is my clarion call to any who have felt that ache, who have lacked that peace. Any who feel compelled to chasing answers or achievements, or to those exhausted from finding only dreams dashed. I have learned well the lies that confound our thinking, our being, and our doing. I'm not afraid to expose them as we find the only way to own The Missing Peace.
